If you really want to change this, you shouldn’t buy only products that freshens the air for a short period of time, but to follow a series of steps that will always keep your bathroom scented and airy.

Start Cleaning Up Your Bathroom

Get rid of any kind of old items, expired and those that you do not use anymore. Keep only products that you use frequently and that really should stay in your bathroom. Once you’ve gotten rid of unnecessary items, store the others in a basket. Wash and clean thoroughly all surfaces, from tiles and tub, to mirror, cabinets and drawers.
Your Bathroom tiles can be a source of unpleasant odors, especially if not washed properly. Also, the area around the toilet bowl is often messy because a tiny amount of water jumps over, when you flush. Over time, these tiny drops will begin to emanate a stench, unpleasant odor. Spray a cleaning solution around the toilet bowl and wash thoroughly with abrasive a brush or a sponge. After everything is spotless clean, spray a disinfectant. Allow time for the disinfectant to act and leave the bathroom door wide open.
Arrange back all your useful items.
Avoid using all kinds of room deodorizers. They are not healthy and once inhaled they can increase the risk of respiratory diseases. More than that, in a hard-ventilated room, they can have the opposite effect to that expected. The smell will be too strong and heavy.

Scented Solutions for Your Bathroom

Buy one or two essential oils. The most suitable for bathroom, are the fresh ones. Avoid those that smell too sweet and opt for pine, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, etc. The best thing is that peppermint and eucalyptus have antibacterial properties, and ward off germs, bacteria and mold spores that may form in your bathroom.
Sew a few little bags of cotton. Fill them with cotton wool sprinkled in advance with 10 to 15 drops of your favorite essential oil. Place them among your care products. Your favorite scent will linger in the bathroom, at least one month. After this period, you will need to replace the bag with new cotton wool, freshly scented.
Scented candles are a good option too, but it will be uncomfortable for you to kindle them whenever you feel an unpleasant smell in the bathroom.

Smart Tips

Maintain always an airy bathroom. Use periodically your bathroom fan. Likewise, a ventilator will help to maintain dry air in the bathroom, even when bathing in hot water.
Do not leave in your bathroom towels, clothes or carpets that are wet. They will begin to emanate odors, as time passes.
